What's Included

Why fascia rot is the #1 silent NOLA killer

Here's what most NOLA homeowners don't know: rotted fascia doesn't just look bad. It's a highway for water into your roof deck. Once water gets behind the fascia, it travels along rafters, soaks insulation, and eventually shows up as a ceiling stain — but by then the damage is usually $5,000-$15,000. We see this every week. Fix $650 of fascia now or pay $8,500 for ceiling, rafter, and drywall repair later. This is the single most preventable major repair in NOLA homes.

Straight Answers.

How do I know if my fascia is rotted?

Paint peeling in strips, dark stains running down from the roof edge, visible gaps between fascia and gutters, or wood that gives when pressed. From the ground, look for any fascia section that looks different color from the rest — that's usually moisture. A proper inspection requires a ladder.

Can you repair just the rotted sections or do I need the whole fascia replaced?

Almost always just the rotted sections. We cut out the failed sections, splice in new wood, prime all six sides, and paint-match. If 50%+ of your fascia is rotted we may recommend full replacement, but spot repairs are the norm.

Do you coordinate with the gutter work?

Yes. If gutters are attached to rotted fascia, we remove them carefully, do the fascia repair, and re-hang. For full fascia replacement, we handle both in one visit. We also do gutter cleaning, repair, and guard installation — one contractor, one trip.

What kind of wood do you use?

Primed PVC-composite or primed cedar for most NOLA fascia replacement. PVC-composite won't rot again — it's our default recommendation. Primed cedar is ~30% cheaper but needs paint upkeep every 4-5 years.

Is fascia repair something I can DIY?

It's possible but risky. You need a stable ladder setup, the ability to identify where rot ends (moisture often travels further than you think), paint-match skills, and comfort with roofline work. A small mistake means water continues getting in. Most homeowners end up calling us after DIY attempts fail.
